The condition of the state of Bihar is not hidden from the rest of India when it comes to field if education. It was just back in the 1990’s that the state had a literacy rate of just around 40% which is way below the average literacy of India at that point of time. This speaks volumes about the lack of facilities that surrounded the state at that point of time. Although the Bihar Board of Secondary Education was functioning at that point of time, but the effects were literally nil! Not even thousands of students went for the secondary examinations. But now the growth is taking place in the state and students has started showing their interest in education. Thus, the Higher Secondary was absolutely out of the question. The things and the scenario changed after the United Nations started taking interest into the state. The whole of India was developing rapidly where as the state’s education was going down the sink! After the efforts put in by the UNESCO, Bihar State Government and the Bihar Board of Secondary Education, the improvement can very well be noticed. The present literacy rate of Bihar is nearing the 70% mark. BSEB 12th Class Exams are usually conducted during March month every year while the exam results are declared during month of June.
